| Introduction | The’ Mud Flap Girl’ image is a promblematic icon from pop culture, much like the playboy bunny, however ‘Mud Flap Girl’ is silhouette of a female body. It is often found as a decal on cars and trucks to embellish the mud-flaps. Mud-flaps are those rubber coverings that protect the truck from mud and crap from the road. |
| Interests | During 2006-2007 my life-long obsession with the ‘Mud Flap Girl’ transformed into an art project and blog. I created Mud Flap Grrl blog specifically to track the journey of a set of mud-flaps that I designed as a response to pop culture’s ‘Mud Flap Girl'. Galerie SAW Gallery included this blog, and a set of my mud-flaps in a group exhibition called Culture Crash: Art and the Automobile. My Mud Flap Girl drawings, on the other hand, were exhibited with the Rider Project in New York City, as a part of a mobile art gallery that was housed in a half-ton truck. |
