| Introduction | I’m a Southern girl living in, working in, and completely in love with Boston. I have a wonderful, very large family that I don’t see as often as I’d like but for whom I love to make things. I grew up watching Mom create just about anything under the sun and only slowly have come to realize how exceptional that was. Over the years I’ve watched everyone from the unflappable Martha Stewart to the fascinatingly-awkward hosts on HGTV for inspiration; I always like to see what people are up to, and I’ve found that just about everyone has something to offer. Any skills I have, though, are entirely due to nature – inheriting Mom’s drive to always be making and doing something – and nurture – her getting me started learning to draw, sew, paint, cook, and anything else I was interested in. I am blessed with a wonderful, brilliant, loving husband who incredibly enough manages to tolerate all the various projects I get myself (and our house) into. |
