| Introduction | Many women have an obsession. For some it's shoes, for others it's purses. My obsession is books. Never mind that I have bookshelves bulging with books just waiting to be read, I keep bringing more home. I love to read, and I try to read whenever I can. Most of the time I just read on my one-hour lunch break. I am not tied to any specific genre of books, although I am not a fan of romance books. I also love to collect vegan cookbooks. I have a bookshelf in the dining room for them. Besides reading, I also love to write. I write short stories and novellas, essays, academic pieces, and poetry. I write stream of consciousness pieces and other things that really aren't classified. I write in notebooks and on napkins, on scraps of paper and in journals. I basically just write when the feeling strikes. When I am not reading and writing, I am involved in some activist or charitable cause, usually related to the environment or animals. I am vegan and have been so since July 2001. I was "green" before it was hip. I have a tendency to ramble. |
