Introduction i just completed my MA in comparative religion (focus: islam, religion & politics in the middle east) & am now an instructor @ miami university hamilton. i like to think & i like to laugh. i'm passionate, independent, & a bit of a sentimental softy. when i'm not researching JD & PhD programs, i like to talk about labneh/haydari & pumpkin spice lattes. i also love travel, books, music, art, the pursuit of high(-er & higher) education, the great out-of-doors, being barefoot, time with family & friends, & my little dog baxter, errr, i mean ruby.
Interests politics, religion, sociology, the middle east (currently involved in a love affair with lebanon), travel, education policy/reform, reading & collecting books, art (creating & enjoying), having amateur fun with my camera, music, theater & the fine arts, museums, learning & discovering, dreaming of fluency in arabic in the distant future, making lists, psychology, documentaries, depauw nostalgia, interior design, fonts, alpha chi omega, ice cream, the smell of fresh laundry, swimming, running the vacuum (very satisfying), grandma's cooking, middle eastern food, buying just the right planner @ just the right time every year, ad infinitum
Favorite Music elton john, eric clapton, simon & garfunkel, paul simon, the rolling stones, queen, spoon, brandi carlile, feist, the black keys, the beatles, journey, foreigner, usually anything on the classic rock & "oldies" stations, arabic music, old tunes my grandpa used to listen to/sing, the themes to columbo & matlock & diagnosis murder, npr (i say it counts), & far too many more to list
Favorite Books how about favorite types & topics of books? religion, politics, sociology, history, the middle east, the "classics", encyclopedia-like books about various subjects, funnies/satires, museum/travel books, etc.

the most wonderfully textured stuff on earth. goal for this year: get my hands back into some clay. miss it so much.
