| Introduction | As a professional Mountaineering Instructor and climbing coach, I love to teach people how to hill walk, scramble and climb. However I found that coaching was reasonably overlooked in climbing instruction, as such I set out to get an MSc in Applied Sport Science, where so far I have passed units in Effective Coaching, Performance Physiology and Sport Psychology, as well as being supervised for 6 months as a sports Psychologist. I have also done some voluntary work looking at creating new coaching awards in mountaineering for the BMC, where I wrote a considerable portion of the final report, that has started the process of developing these awards. |
