| Introduction | I began writing full-length books in my forties. At that time, I was told that writing was just a hobby so I was encouraged to search for a CAREER, one that guaranteed a paycheck. But the careers that I prepared for - nurse, psych tech, insurance saleswoman, notary public, etc. - left much to be desired! I was a writer, for heaven's sake! In the past twenty years I have written four novels and am beginning my fifth. My office is by the front window. My dining room table is my desk. When I am stumped for an idea that would go great in my present book, I sit back and gaze out the window at our court. I watch the kids play and my neighbors socializing in the middle of the court. Sometimes I can't believe how lucky I am to live in the US, in California, in the Bay Area, in Santa Clara and being married to a generous, sensitive and understanding guy, and having four wonderful children and five beautiful and amazing grandchildren (that said by a very unbiased grandmother!). |
