Introduction	Iskra, in Russian, means ‘a spark’. Of late, many of us have found ourselves helpless in making any progress with the multiple issues of the students. On this, some of us have come together to discover the following two fundamental problems. One, even though we are in a small campus, we have not been able to forge bonds across different schools and courses to be able to form a closely-knit students’ community. Two, forceful articulation of pressing students’ concerns and efficient mobilization of the rest of the community has proved difficult due to the lack of effective dissemination of relevant information. Iskra, the blog, is an endeavor on the part of some students to resolve this crisis in an open, democratic manner.'The blog' here functions as a common pool of pertinent information regarding the students’ issues and their rights. Students are invited to mail entries or specific information about any issue to iskra.tqd@gmail.com. While the information can be detailed, the entries for posts should be about 500 words. They can pertain to issues of student amenities in TISS, social issues, grievances regarding courses and teaching, any specific incidents of general concern, etc.
