| Introduction | I have been championing the free software cause for more than 20 years now and have spent most of my time earning a crust from it too. I try to avoid the products of a certain company from Redmond as much as humanly possible as well as those from the new even larger 'fruty' corporation. I strongly believe that computing should be treated as SCIENCE - a collaborative journey for man-kind, not as so much intangible 'intellectual property'. I believe that there is something fundamentally broken about how we have allowed the modern world to be ruled by corporations who operate in a moral vacuum, they have to put profit before everything and that is destroying the planet we all need to survive. This is not some remote future - it is happening now! |
