Introduction | I am a Professor of English at SUNY Fredonia. My research and teaching focuses on 19th-century U.S. literature. As a scholar devoted to recovering women writers who were forgotten or neglected over time, I enjoy introducing students to the rich legacies of women authors who lived during the 19th century. My research and teaching often highlights the transformative power of literature, so I include a lot of "reform"-oriented literature in my courses and research projects. My recent research also intersects with animal studies, and I have designed a general education course that explores representations of animals throughout history. |
