Introduction	I never had home economics in school. I've always 'winged it' when it came to cooking. And growing and preserving food was not where I saw my life being lived. Now that I'm 'older', I find myself remembering the homemade foods my Granny put on the table, the fried chicken for dinner (what we called the noon meal, btw) that was out in the yard pecking and scratching that very morning. Also, I think back on the garden my father grew every year and the canning and freezing my Mom did. Now I want to learn how to do all this. Life is after all a journey.
Interests	learning new old-time skills like growing and preserving my own food; keeping chickens; baking bread; microfarming.
