| Introduction | Cooking has always been a huge interest of mine. I grew up around great cooks. My grandfather owned his own catering company for which everyone in the family worked. Some of his most famous recipes included asparagus cream cheese sandwiches, peanut brittle, and tomato biscuits. Along with my grandfather, my dad had his own flair in the kitchen. He would spend an entire Saturday experimenting with new recipes with me right by his side. As a child, I remember incredible foods always being present in our household, from blue cheese stuffed olives to lobster pizza and caviar. I would always ask to try whatever new dish was being created, but my dad would smugly tell me I wasn't going to like it. Well, this jovial battle inevitably ended with me, at age five or six, scarfing down a plate of blue cheese stuffed olives and truly enjoying them! Today, I am a wife and mother who loves to experiment with new recipes and perfect old ones. Some people love to read, some love long bike rides, but my haven from the world is in my own kitchen where I can create and let my mind wonder, all while filling the stomachs of those I love. |
