| Introduction | Cooking for the last 20 years twice a day, sometimes thrice a day, cooking is one of the things in life I do by natural instinct. Having grown up in India in the midst of a family, where everyone – well, almost everyone – turns out superlative food, it’s thrilling to see Indian food slowly being loved, explored and talked about. However, it is a common perception that cooking Indian food is complicated, tedious, time consuming, not to mention the spices and their mind-numbing permutations and combinations. ChutneyLover wants to change that perception because I strongly believe that you can delve into any cuisine by taking baby steps – combine a coriander powder into your chili, spread a chutney into your sandwich, create a salad dressing with tadka and so on and so forth. It’s all about incorporating unfamiliar flavors into familiar dishes till you can’t possibly live without those flavors. At that point you are ready to take on/cook unfamiliar dishes to get your flavor fix. My goal is to make you fall into love with Indian flavors and show you ways in which you can incorporate them into your everyday meals. |
