| Introduction | I am a family physician who has lived in Belfast, Maine, for 25 years with my wife, Lindsay, and our two children. I grew up in rural Iowa, attended Creighton University and The University of Iowa College of Medicine, completed an MA in the Social Sciences at the University of Chicago (1984) and a fellowship in Family Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco (1994). I co-founded Seaport Family Practice with Tim Hughes MD, and my work was the subject of a Life Magazine photoessay in 1998 and an NBC Nightline documentary in 2000. My interests include running, potatoes, singing, architecture, and friendship. |
