| Introduction | My parents took me out of school at the age of 13 to sail part way around the world. Eight years later, already a qualified commercial boat captain, I left my floating home in the Caribbean to study tourism in California. Many adventures followed, like running a restaurant and a whale watch boat in Hawaii, canoeing through the Canadian wilderness, creating an award winning tourism company in the Whitsundays and having a family. My passion for travel didn’t dissipate when I became a mum. Instead I modified my travels to suit my daughter and kept exploring. I found the information available for parents was scant and realised there was a need for more detailed information for traveling families. The result is Kids Welcome to Queensland – a guidebook designed especially for families which includes independent reviews on activities, attractions, tours, places to stay and places to eat. After all, Australia has more to offer families than just Queensland, and I haven't lost my wanderlust yet! |

You have to dig a hole to China. Where do you start?
I reckon just over the border in Vietnam would be the most practical!
