Introduction	Born in Los Angeles, I studied English literature at Harvard and law at Duke. After two years working in Africa with the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, I moved to London to rejoin my wife and became a corporate lawyer. Having fallen in love with France, we decided in 2005 to move there and build a new life. We now run a holiday cottage business from our medieval farmhouse just outside of Montcabrier in the Quercy. I spend my days being hospitable to guests, fixing stuff, cooking, cleaning and writing novels.
