About me

Occupation Sometime Bookseller
Location Austin, Texas, United States
Introduction I married an American, left the UK and settled first in Florida where I encountered bugs and avoided hurricanes. No music to speak of. Next stop California where we bought an apartment in San Francisco and avoided earthquakes. Urban independent bookselling ensued, with a dash of nightlife. Moving elegantly on to Texas and the city of Austin where I am currently engaged in ground-breaking and highly valuable research into the culture of the honky tonk. Lost In A Common Language began as a repository for home-sickness and a place to ponder the strange ways of America.
