| Introduction | I'm Eileen/黃愛玲. I will leave my life behind to start from scratch on the beautiful island. Honestly? Whenever I visit another country, I never seem to want to go back. I get lost in the culture. I have the urge to speak the language, learn to cook the cuisine, and wear the latest fashion. I somehow have the confidence to become the person I’ve always been afraid to be (what I’m meant to be). Living in another country does open your eyes to new possibilities. I know there will be times when I will feel so out of place and question if I have made the right decision. I can only open my mind and do my absolute best; the rest will soon follow. I will at least know how my ancestors felt like when they came to another country for religious tolerance and create a better life for themselves. It’s a beautiful, brave thing to do. I respect and admire anybody who steps outside his or her comfort zone to start a new life in another country. It’s an adventure I will make sure to experience for myself. 我只是個愛旅行的女孩. |
