About me

IntroductionThe idea of setting up a Catholic group in Curtin University was conceived in 2002. Bro. Adrian Ng, a seminarian with the diocese back then was instrumental in assisting the setting up of the society. After much prayer and negotiation with the relevant groups involved in the setting up, the Catholic Students Society of Curtin Sarawak Malaysia (CSS-CSM) was finally established in September 2002 at the old campus in Riam among a group of Foundation Studies students. Beginning 2003, members included students from both degree and pre-university programs. Although small in number in the beginning, the faithfulness and effort put in by the early members to grow in the Spirit and fellowship helped the group to develop. Back then, funds for the society were mainly raised through sales during the annual Curtin Carnival, monthly pledges from Catholic staffs of the university and through donations from members. The commitment by members of CSS and the support for the society given by members of the church throughout the years has moulded CSS-CSM into what it is today.
