Industry Non-Profit
Location Melbourne, Victoria, Australia
Introduction Habitat for Humanity Australia is a non-profit organisation, which builds simple, decent, houses in partnership with low income families. Through donations of money and materials, and the use of volunteer labour under trained supervision, Habitat builds and renovates houses with the help of homeowner families. The houses are sold at less than market value, financed with affordable, no-interest loans. Habitat for Humanity Victoria has built 30 houses with 4 more nearing completion. A further 8 houses are in planning stage to be started over the next few months. HFH University of Melbourne is a chapter of HFH Victoria. The club was started in 2009, with the aim of supporting the building projects and aims of HFH Victoria. “We're building more than houses, we're building hope”.
