| Introduction | This research-led teaching program invites graduate students to get involved in an ongoing, cross-cultural research project which is, in various forms, conducted in Tokyo by Dr Davisi Boontharm since 2007. The project focuses on creativity and the city. The emphasis is on urban design analysis and urban design-research explorations of selected precincts of Tokyo which are strongly marked by creativity of their residents and visitors. Cultural difference of an environment which unfamiliar to the majority of our students will be used to stimulate their perception and to provoke their awareness of the variety of spatial expressions of local culture. |
