| Introduction | Wilderness survival, bushcrafting, and emergency preparedness skills are about getting back to the hierarchy of human survival core domains and facets – or our primordial, cultural matter – that promote preservation of Self and community. The Relative (E=mc²) Wilderness School (TR²WS) is about getting back to the mental health hierarchical domains and facets through the fusion and synergy of wilderness survival, bushcraft, and preparedness skills with a theoretically sound practice of mental health counseling and theoretically proven interventions. This will be accomplished through an introduction to basic wilderness & preparedness knowledge, strategies, tactics, and nuanced skills that promote both physical and emotional Self-reliance, an increase in one’s mental health capacity to cope with and defend against psychological stress (i.e. depression, fear, interpersonal & social problems, anxiety, grief, loss, issues of trauma, shame & guilt, conflict, loneliness, character issues, etc.), or diagnosed mental illness . |
