| Introduction | I attended OCA in Toronto; studied painting in Florence, Italy under the late Aba Bayefski and received MA in Gallery Administration from F.I.T. I have worked with such prominent art dealers as Rosa Esman, and Gracie Mansion in NYC. I am currently the MI rep. for the Feminist Art Project, and the VP of the Midwest Region for the National Women’s Caucus for Art and President of the MI Chapter of the WCA. I work in mixed media and I consider myself a Feminist Activist Artist. I am currently working on a large installation which is an attack on the supposed “War on Obesity” and the multi-billion dollar diet industry. I collect art and I feel a significant way to support women in the arts is to focus collecting on them. My work has appeared in "Art in the Age of Terrorism" Edited by Graham Coulter-Smith and Maurice Owen. I received mention in the June and July 2007 issue of 'Art in America' for my work in "What F Word" Curated by Carol Cole at the Cynthia Broan Gallery in NYC. An essay entitled "The Venus of Willendorf Project", about my recent work is in publication, release date yet to be determined. |
