Introduction My name is Ashley P. Taylor, and I am a writer and journalist. You may know me as Katie Crenshaw, the nom de plume I adopted when I started this blog. Crenshaw is both a family name and the name of a melon, so I, having descended from Crenshaws, am a Crenshaw seed, as are these blog posts, seeds of ideas. I love the pen name and can't quite abandon it, but I am not longer trying to hide my true identity. My latest venture is to write about the weekly Torah portion. I’m relatively new to Judaism and not a rabbi, so my thoughts are particularly unauthoritative. However, people have been interested in the divrei Torah that I’ve given at my synagogue, CBE, so even with that grain of salt, I’m hoping people might still be interested in what I have to say. Plus, my perspective tends not to relate to politics and news, which may be a refreshing change. If you would like to support the Torah blogging effort, please send donations to @Ashley-Taylor-36 on Venmo or to me through Zelle using my email address, ashley.p.taylor@gmail.com. I will tally them up and report them as income. Thanks in advance. And thanks to everyone for reading!
