Introduction	I'm a mid-40s professional in the mid-Atlantic region of the United States. Patrick Drinker is not my real name, of course, but the experiences I write about here on The Drinking Lamp are all true, with some (but not all) names changed. I attend Alcoholics Anonymous meetings, but I do have issues with the manner in which AA operates (I attend once or twice a week, and have never had a sponsor). Nonetheless, I will adopt their tradition of anonymity for the time being. Whether you would like to do the same is entirely up to you. I have undergone in-patient and out-patient treatment for alcoholism, and currently am seeing a psychiatrist for this problem, along with generalized anxiety. I've had one DUI, but certainly should have had more (or at least deserved to have many more).
