| Introduction | Perry has been a specialist in design law for the last 20 years, representing Fortune 500 & smaller companies, as well as individual designers, in obtaining & enforcing design patents, copyrights & trade dress in their industrial designs. His practice includes work as an expert witness and consultant to litigators handling design patent and trade dress infringement lawsuits. He has published and lectured extensively on design law. He was the founder and first chair of the Industrial Designs Committee of the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA), and currently serves as vice-chair of the Industrial Designs Committee of the Intellectual Property Owners Association (IPO), co-chair of the Design Protection Section of the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA), and is on the Design Rights Subcommittee of the Emerging Issues Committee of the International Trademark Association (INTA). His boutique law firm, SAIDMAN DesignLaw Group, concentrates in legal issues involving designs and product configurations and is located just outside of Washington D.C. |
