If you could peer far enough into the night sky, you'd see a star in any direction you looked. When would you sleep?
As my kindly optometrist informed at my last check "without your glasses you could be registered blind...." As I tend not too sleep with my glasses on I would indeed be peering into the night sky and would not see any stars unless they were about 2 metres away.
