Introduction | A freelance writer and Converse College adjunct professor in the Music Business & Technology Program, John Jeter also is an entrepreneur. In Upstate, South Carolina, he’s best known as co-founder of The Handlebar, a small concert venue that he owned and operated with his wife, Kathy Laughlin, for 20 years. He’s also a nationally published author: ROCKIN’ A HARD PLACE, a Hub City Press memoir based on his experience as Greenville club’s talent buyer; THE PLUNDER ROOM, his debut novel from St. Martin’s Press; and THE LUCIFER GENOME, a thriller he co-authored and published with Brigid’s Fire Press. He’s currently working on a TV sitcom inspired by his memoir, and he’s developing a play, THE LYNCHING. He has traveled the world: Europe, China, Vietnam, Cuba, Central America, Mexico and Canada, the Caribbean, southern Africa and throughout the United States. He also has appeared on Oprah! and on TV, in newspapers and radio, as a contributor and a subject. |
