Introduction My name is Kyle Curry, and I am a former Physics teacher from a public high school in KY who has successfully completed my 5th academic school year as an educator. After graduating High School, I attended a Community College for one academic school year before I began to pursue degrees in Physics and in Education. In the Fall semester of 2009, I officially enrolled as a Hill-Topper with the goal of acquiring a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Physics and a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Science/Mathematics Education. I graduated WKU with both degrees while maintaining a 4.0 grade point average. I am a student in the first cohort of SKyTeach graduates from WKU; the SKyTeach program is an education program based on a curriculum model designed by the University of Texas that is specifically geared toward undergraduate students who intend to teach middle school or high school Science and/or Mathematics. As an individual who is willing to work to the highest ability, it was wonderful to become a part of the history of WKUs undergraduate studies. I am currently enrolled as a graduate student at UK’s STEM Education program with the aspirations of earning a Doctoral degree.
Interests Fortunately, I rarely have any problems enjoying any aspect of my life. While a true academic at heart, I take every opportunity I can to indulge myself within the hobbies that have helped shaped me into the person that I am today. From an early age, I knew that I was a “Petrol-Head”. As a “Petrol-Head”, I will always participate in any event within a community that involves automobiles. By living in Somerset, Kentucky, I look forward to the end of the spring an summer months whenever the downtown district closes all of its streets in order to allow classic automobiles, sports cars, and exotic vehicles to be displayed to members of the general public. This event, known as the Somernite’s Cruise, is an evening that I, and my gorgeous girlfriend, love to attend due to the fact that we are both owners of exotic cars that are not commonly found.
Favorite Movies In my free time, I often replay episodes of the British Broadcasting Company’s television program, “Top Gear” as I await the first episodes of the next greatest car show, "The Grand Tour". While I cannot speak for everyone enrolled in this course, I would be surprised if most of you did not enjoy a leisurely drive with your significant other on a warm, beautiful day. However, after driving an exotic vehicle with a six-speed gear box for several hours, hunger will undoubtedly make its presence known to the driver. Therefore, I have developed a second hobby - being a connoisseur of great food. As a “foodie”, it is not uncommon that I drive large distances simply to try a restaurant that is famous for its high quality food. Whether it be a chain restaurant that receives rave reviews or a local joint that is known by few, I literal spend hours of my time researching the best locations to eat in a myriad of different cities around the country. In all honesty, my vacations are typically constructed around the fact that I need to eat well in order to receive the full experience of the trip. Much like my passion for vehicles, my girlfriend has also become an aristocrat (her words, not mine) whenever it comes to choosing the venue of dining for the evening. Much like everyone else who I associate with, I am officially a “Netflix Junkie”, a binge watcher of television shows, and I try my best to see as many films in the theater or drive-in as humanly possible. As you have guessed, I am a huge Star Wars fan! It is an exciting time for me in that we have many Star Wars films to be released over the next several years. “Doctor Who” is a personal favorite show of mine that will return in September, which should hold me over until “The Game of Thrones” returns to HBO whenever spring arrives.
