| Introduction | My name is Matt, but my friends call me Matty. I grew up in Northern New Jersey where my love of music took root thanks to my parents and talented friends. School was a nuisance to me although I gained numerous influential experiences and learned a great deal about music. After graduating, and a short stint at the local community college, my band was offered a record contract which we signed and followed our dreams. We recorded two records and toured the country several times over. The life experience was irreplaceable, and this part of my life also sparked my interest in communication. Unfortunately, as the economy went into a slump, the band and I decided to finish our schooling while times were tough. I had grown out of my distaste for education institutions and hit the ground running in the classroom. Moving ahead four exciting years, I will now be graduating from Rutgers with a degree in Communication in May. Along with the vast knowledge I am gaining from an internship at Estro Communication (social media marketing/SEO) I plan to begin a career in social media marketing. |
