| Introduction | Chris Saxman was re-elected in 2007 to serve his 4th term in the House of Delegates representing the 20th House District. He currently serves on the Commerce & Labor, Transportation, Counties Cities & Towns, and Agriculture, Chesapeake and Natural Resources Committees. In 2003, Delegate Saxman was elected by his colleagues to serve as Chairman of the General Assembly’s Cost Cutting Caucus. This bi-partisan group works to find cost savings in state government, and make government more efficient, transparent, accountable and competitive. The Caucus has introduced dozens of legislative initiatives, notably the Competitive Government Act and the Budget Reform and State Inspector General Act. The Cost Cutting Caucus has been recognized by media throughout Virginia, as well as the Wall Street Journal’s online publication, OpinionJournal.com. Raised in Staunton, Virginia, Chris graduated from Lee High School and received his B.A. in History from Washington & Lee University. He works as General Manager of Shenandoah Corporation, and is President of the International Bottle Water Association. Chris and his wife reside in Staunton with their 4 children. |
