| Introduction | Some writers dream. Others fight. Manish Kumar does both. Born in 1968 in New Delhi, India, he walked the hallowed halls of Delhi University, studying English Literature by day and preparing for a different kind of call to duty by night. Somewhere between the ink of his books and the grit of soldiering, he found his true voice. His debut, Prisoner of War (2011), wasn’t just a collection of 26 short stories; it was a rich tapestry of emotions, each tale a skirmish between hope and despair. Readers took notice, and so did the media. His words found their way into popular magazines, while his blog, Discover the Writer in You, became a beacon for aspiring storytellers. Then came the moment when his fiction leaped off the page—his short story A Point of View was adapted into a short film and aired on National Television in 2014. In 2017, he upped the ante with his first novel, Ecstasy, a work that solidified his reputation as a writer who doesn’t just tell stories—he immerses his readers in them. Whether through the written word, the silver screen, or his mentorship of emerging writers, Manish Kumar remains a storyteller who refuses to be confined to a single battlefield. |
