| Introduction | When I was 11 years old I asked my mother for a pair of jeweler's pliers. And I remember thinking that my world was not complete until I had a pair! I then dragged her across town to a special little store called Burnie’s Rock Shop to buy them. That was in Madison, WI and the shop is still there nearly 30 years later, still special. String was my first medium, friendship bracelets of course. Then beads and wire and findings found their way into my heart. And in high school, as luck would have it, a whole course was offered on metal-smithing and lost wax casting! As an adult I have continued with beading, wire work, Art Clay and many other fun techniques along the way. To say that my love of all things jewelry is a hobby would be accurate but a serious understatement. I have come to understand that it is actually my Calling and this blog represents my statement to the Universe that I am indeed honoring this part of my being. |
