| Introduction | Born in New York in 1965, Susan Torres recently made a choice to pursue her art career. Susan is a self-taught artist that comes from an already creative family of vocalist, musicians and visual artists. Her mother who drew model-like beauties would become Susan’s inspiration. Like many other artists, she turned to a career in graphic arts and web design to make money as well as to try to fulfill some of her creative desires. But, she was never really fulfilled. In 1998, a friend gave Susan a suitcase, purchased from a yard sale that contained some old oil paints, brushes and canvas paper. She decided to try her hand at painting and picked up a paint brush for the first time. Because at the time, Susan felt that she could never be a serious artist without the proper training, she never painted with any commitment. She merely painted here and there and just hung her creations in her home and dreamed. She dreams no more and is now doing what she feels passionate about. Susan lives in Coral Springs, Florida and is inspired by the colorful lifestyle, people and energy of South Florida. |
