Introduction Absolutely not. I say this because I actually like Cool Whip, boxed macaroni and cheese, dehydrated onion, and other convenient pre-packaged sacrileges of our modern culture and use them in my kitchen with reckless abandon! However, I do enjoy experimenting and trying new recipes, and I love how they turn out when made with the more “authentic” ingredients. So when I have the time, money, and gumption, I like to use real whipped cream, homemade noodles and cheese sauce, and freshly chopped shallots. Just because it makes me feel cool—like I could be a food snob if I wanted to be.
