| Introduction | 'Life Outside the Box' is the result of an eight month Puppet Project, facilitated by Artist and Writer Corina Duyn (www.corinaduyn.com) with fellow members of the Irish Wheelchair Association, Dungarvan Resource Centre (IWA). We are living with a disability, and with the help of our puppets, we stepped out of Society's Disability Box. We very much take an active part in society. And yes, we are very good at having fun too! We published a book about the process of making the puppets. The accompanying video follows the puppets as they step out of the box. The puppets have travelled far beyond our wildest dreams, appeared at exhibitions, film festivals, and go on holiday, and at the Puppet Sumposium... This blog is to follow their adventures! The project was supported by a CREATE, artist in the community scheme, funded by the Arts Council of Ireland. Thank you for your company along the way! |
