| Introduction | At the beginning of 2012, instead of making New Years' Resolutions, I decided to choose a word for the year that embodied the most important intention I had for the new year. My word for 2012 is EMBRACE. I've spent the past several years holding back. Being less than I know I am capable of. Worrying more about what other people think than about what making the most of what I am. And by the end of 2011, I had had enough of that. I was ready to make some changes. Some BIG changes. Some scary changes. So EMBRACE as a word seemed to really fit where I am and where I am headed this year. But more than that, the word EMBRACE also encourages me to focus on some of the core values I hold, but which may not have been consciously demonstrating as much as I would like. EMBRACE KINDNESS. EMBRACE GENEROSITY. EMBRACE LOVE. That is my mantra for 2012. And these are my stories of that journey. |
