| Introduction | I'm a secretary by day and a Knitting Mama all the other time! I learned to crochet about 20 years ago but had to put it aside after having my son - didn't have a lot of down time as a single mother. But I tried to make a baby blanket for any new additions to the family over the years. About 4 years ago, I joined a knitting circle at work and found a new joy with yarn. I taught myself to knit - with a lot of help from the wonderful ladies in my knitting group, which was almost 50 years of experience between them. As the years passed several of the women in the group retired or moved on to other jobs - so the knitting group disolved, but I continued with my knitting and I have enjoyed creating special gifts for family and friends; as my nieces and nephews can attest - they've received many an item from their auntie (socks, hats, scarves, slippers, vests, sweaters, etc...). I still crochet a mean baby blanket now and again, but I'm really 'hooked' on knitting - even if I do have to use two needles! |
