| Introduction | I am a licensed 100 ton captain with over forty years of sailing experience. I learned to sail at Coconut Grove just outside of Miami. I have been a charter captain, sailing instructor, yacht broker and a boat builder. I crewed for Marvin Creamer on his circumnavigation aboard Globe Star, a voyage without navigational instruments of any kind, using only the stars, wind and water currents to guide us. I designed and patented (#5,280,760) a cantilever keel sail boat for use by disabled individuals who would still like to sail. I found in disrepair the original Herreshoff "Mobjack"; I bought her and did a complete restoration after which she appeared in the movie "Consenting Adults". Most recently my wife and I restored a Salar 40 which involved removing the rotted teak deck and replacing it with fiberglass non-skid as well as replacing the engine and electronics, etc. I have also been involved in composite aircraft building and designing. |
