Introduction ... is a common man who developed an early fascination with the most useful "science of human nature." Trained in the rich Jesuit tradition, he has worked in fast food, packing houses, as a landscaper, busboy, gas station attendant, cement mixer, attorney, educator and, most recently, author. The photo above (the author in white posing in the foreground) is of William T. Sherman, Civil War General. Unveiled in 1903, his bronze, equestrian statue, like its granite base figure, is gilded, and follows Lady Liberty. It presently decorates the 5th Avenue entrance to Central Park, New York City. On his deathbed, Sherman requested that these words should be put on his tombstone: "Put 'Faithful and honorable; faithful and honorable!' "
