| Introduction | My Beliefs (6-11-08): (1) I believe in God, His absolute power, and His continued work, as revealed in His inerrant Word. (2) God has given common grace to all men, but reconciling grace only to those HE has chosen (predestined). 3) Apart from God, man is totally sinful, depraved, and rebellious, and so except for God's common grace, there is NO good thing in unregenerate men. 4) None of this absolves men from their guilt or means that God is in any way unjust: - non-believers have the RESPONSIBILITY to seek God (on His terms) and to ask (beg!) for God's love and forgiveness that comes ONLY through the work and intervention of His Son; - Christians (meaning those who are TRULY His) have the responsibility to OBEY God. 5) Unregenerate men CANNOT please God, and will have no desire to do so - conversely, those who have no desire to SEPARATE themselves from sin and to please God are NOT regenerate and have no inheritance in heaven (at least at that point in their lives!). 6) Evangelism and outreach are CRUCIAL, not because we are any sort of factor in whether someone goes to heaven or hell, but because the Lord to Whom our lives belong COMMANDS it and guides it. |
