Introduction	As the Beatle sang, life is what happens while you’re busy doing something else instead.. growing up in the north of Ireland, studying 'Eng. Lit." in England at the start of the eighties, drifting in London, in Spain at the end of the post-Franco party era, then to Paris and half-finishing a doctorate in ‘Psycho-analysis and Lit’ at the université de Paris 7. Then migration to the Mediterranean side of France with an Iranian-born husband and a four-month old daughter. All the while writing and helping earn the family living as a language teacher in lycées, universities, business schools, for unemployment schemes and social services. Still in the Midi on the publication of a novella collection and the birth of a second daughter. And STILL there today, a further eight years on, as the first-born turns into an ‘ado’ with her own ideas about moving on somewhere else instead....
