| Introduction | I am a dermatopathologist in Southern California. Dermatopathologists examine skin biopsies under a microscope to determine the diagnosis of a skin lesion. For instance, a dermatopathologist determines if a mole is benign or melanoma. A dermatopathologist is a physician (MD or DO) who has completed a residency in pathology or dermatology and completed a fellowship in dermatopathology. Dermatopathologists are board certified in either pathology or dermatology and are also board certified in dermatopathology. |
