About me

LocationHopkins, Michigan
IntroductionHello Michigan Dairy Industry and beyond! My name is Nicole Schaendorf and I will be serving you over the next year as the 2009 Michigan Senior Dairy Ambassador. I will be a senior at Michigan State University in the fall and am majoring in Agriculture and Natural Resources Communications, specializing in Agri-Business Management and Public Relations. I grew up in a dairy farm in Hopkins, Michigan, halfway between Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo. We have built our farm from the ground up, starting with 32 cows in a tiestall barn in 1994, and have been building ever since, today milking over 1,100. My family also has a custom harvesting business where we harvest crops for dairy farmers all over Michigan, Indiana and Ohio. Let’s just say I have been born and bred to love agriculture, cows and speaking with all who will listen about dairy. Over this next year I hope to extend my knowledge of dairy throughout the state at local and statewide events as well as encourage discussion and education of agriculture. Open minds bring open opportunities, let’s get to work and start growing together!
