| Introduction | Jibril Abdulhafith participated in and coordinated an interfaith cooperation project with Jews, Christians, and Muslims in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Jibril planned and coordinated an Anti-drug Initiative adopted by the Urban League in Pittsburgh. He attended a working session at the United Nations headquarters in New York sponsored by the World Council on Religion and Peace and interfaith dialogues with Pittsburgh’s Council of Christians and Jews. He done security work for the Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA) at two national conventions convened in Pittsburgh. He is Chairman of the Arts & Culture Committee of Homewood-Brushton Community Coalition Organization (HBCCO), in that role he has produced the New Africa on the Block: Open Air Culture and Arts Marketplace and the annual Homewood Community Day Festival(s) showcasing Homewood-Brushton community as a cultural magnet for African Americans. He is the Associate Imam at An Nur Islamic Center’s congregation; he served a full term as the elected Vice President to the Islamic Council of Greater Pittsburgh and serves as Muslim Imam at a correctional facility in Pittsburgh. |
