Introduction I'm still exploring what being a "feminist" means. I don't think I've picked up a book on feminist theory in nearly a decade...though I hope to again soon! However, I am a mum, who grew up with feminist ideals and thinks about how to pass them on to my children. The sad truth is, academic debates rarely filter down to the people to whom they are most relevant. So this is for mums who are too sleep deprived to engage with feminism at a theoretical level but who believe it has a place in their lives. About me: I have a young daughter and a young son and my family recently moved to East Kent. I studied anthropology and have worked in environmental charities, politics and more recently as a specialist children's nurse. Motherhood has made me reflect on parenting, gender and childhood in the 21st century and the impact of women's lib and feminism on how we, as the next generation of feminists, are choosing to bring up our own children. I am also a Luddite so bear with me!
