| Introduction | I am a survivor of brutal incest, violence, and torture, and I have written a poetic memoir about the process of healing from the trauma of my childhood. "The Blooming of the Lotus: a spiritual journey from trauma into light" is a story of hope and victory. It is a resource for both incest/trauma survivors and also for all those professionals who impact their lives. I wrote this book in collaboration with trauma specialist Dr. AnDreya Wilde who organized the poems clinically into chapters that follow the natural order of healing – chapters easily accessible to trauma survivors, so you can flip to a chapter most like how you feel, read a poem or several, and know you are not alone. I gifted this book to a local women's center for their lending library. The book is never in! It is passed from woman to woman to woman.
