Occupation sell antique French textiles

Introduction For as long as I can remember, I have loved clothing, fabrics and antiques. Although these interests were part of my personal life, the first practical application came during the 1970s when I started working in small theatres and at the National Arts Centre in Canada. From theatre, I moved to working in the film industry, first as wardrobe assistant & later as costume designer. During the years that I worked in film, I continued my small "side" business - selling vintage fabrics, clothes and some antiques. I registered my business in New York City in 1989. By 1991, after completing work on the film "My Cousin Vinny," I decided to devote full time to my own entrepreneurial effort. In 1999, french-treasures was one of the first textile companies to launch a website after having been in business in NYC for several years. This web presence ultimately freed me to travel and to move from NYC to France, since the site could be maintained from almost anywhere! Although I am no longer living in France full-time, I still spend several months a year there which allows me time to select interesting and unique French antique fabrics & decorative objects.
