| Introduction | A friend recently commented that she felt sorry for the women who create online identities based on their status as "Mom". You know, the email addresses like "KayLeighsMom@Blank.com". To her, it seemed to say that KayLeigh's Mom had no other identity beyond her relationship to her little bundle of joy. I had to confess that, although my own email address is based on my name for simplicity's sake, I indulge in this practice when creating other types of online identities. I have a pretty healthy sense of self as an individual apart from my offspring, but I freely admit they have changed my life dramatically and will continue to shape my life as surely as I shape theirs. God blessed my home with two beautiful children: Fiona, the Princess and Colin the SuperHero. The kids and I are all blessed with the greatest Daddy/Husband in all creation (my regrets to those of you settling for second, third, fourth, etc...) |
