How tall would you be if you had never cut your fingernails?
Why should very long fingernails have anything to do with being tall or not? Simple enough, isn't it? By the way, how would they wash their dishes with extra-long claws? Seems to me you would be tripping over your hair as you walked too, if you were also keeping all your hair.
