| Introduction | When I was 3 I sang Christmas carols in the church choir with a black eye. 2 days prior, I had flung myself down a flight of stairs, believing I could fly. Anyone who asked me what happened I told them about my misadventure and I was always me with the same response of, “Silly girl. Flying is impossible”. I could not then, and do not now, understand how other people get to decide what anyone else should and should believe in. Looking back, I know now that all I needed was a longer hallway to give me a bigger running start and I totally would have made it. I share my life with 5 unique and wonderful children, 2 golden retrievers and my loving partner, Jason. My family provides laughter and joy. Every day they inspire me, reminding me that the most 'real' things in life are those things which I will never see with my eyes or touch with my hands; that living a meaningful life means not having to prove to everybody else that it actually exists. Lucky me. |
